Superfan - My Piledriver Heart

Superfan is the songwriting veil of Brooklyn multi-instrumentalist and producer Kali Priya Flanagan. On My Piledriver Heart, crafted with cellist Omeed Almassi and producer Hudson Pollock, Flanagan expands his noisy, magnetic pop into an intimate live-recorded world of acoustic guitar, cello, and Eastern musical influence.

It is his first release outside the record deal he signed at 14, and it feels newly self-defined. Flanagan calls it his “Acousticello” sound, folding heartbreak, independence, and hopeful melancholia into songs that blur folk, chamber music, pop-rock ballads, and alternative rock, including Apeiron (Fantasy Football), Miss W Jones, and Picture of Return.

After Tow Truck Jesus, Flanagan opened for The Strokes at Red Rocks and became a key presence in New York DIY, playing with Horsegirl, Knifeplay, Quiet Light, King Woman, and Victoryland. He also plays in rising emo band Holidays in United States, following earlier success under the moniker KALI.
