Church of Sound mark their 10th birthday with a compilation of previously unheard live recordings taken from their now legendary event series. Formed in 2016, Church Of Sound is an independently run concert series based out of St. James the Great church in Hackney, East London. Over the past 10 years they’ve curated and produced events with bonafide legends & the most exciting up and coming artists across a variety of styles and scenes, largely focussing on jazz & the many genres it has influenced.
This compilation tells the story of some of Church Of Sound’s most iconic moments; from Tony Allen’s last gig to Moses Boyd’s breakout moment in 2016; from a tender duet between award winning harpist Alina Bzhezhinska and British jazz royalty Tony Kofi to a neck-snapping performance by American contemporary jazz icon Jeff Parker.
