Opéra de Nuit return from a long slumber with one of coldwave’s essential catalogues, reissued by Dark Entries. Formed in 1982 in Valréas in the southeast of France, the band released just three records: EPs in 1984 and 1986, followed by a full LP in 1988.
Their sound still hits hard: frigid synths, jangly guitars and sorrow-laden vocals, right at the heart of the genre. This set gathers their newly remastered discography across thirteen tracks, including the pummelling Annabella, the brooding Boris Transylvania Camp and the elegant anthem Karen Lloyd.
