After her start as the wee Scottish girl in The Little Rascals movies, on to a mistress of bop vocalese with Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, dropping out of the mainstream as Lenny Bruce's girlfriend/drug buddy, she returned to the UK....Soho in the 1960s called to her, the world of Ronnie Scott Brit Bop, of Georgie Fame allnighters, and Peter Cook's Satirical Nightclub, The Establishment, home of the satire boom, beatniks and of course jazz....where she played with BritBop drum-master and early Rock and Roll band leader Tony Kinsey, performing songs by Private Eye affiliated poet Christopher Logue....can't get more of a snapshot of a time than that....unless I am in it as a child (I lived nearby then)....or young Una Stubbs dances out of a poster to kiss Tony Newley....Annie Ross, Scotland's queen of Jazz, take a bow, on RevOla/PoppyDisc vinyl....a classic album in original look and sound yet brand new.....relive a legend with the wonderful voice of Anne Ross....
