Invasion is the 4th album proper by OG grime architect Terror Danjah, and surprisingly enough his debut for Brighton’s jazzy stable, Tru Thoughts. With the transition from his Hardrive Records to Tru Thoughts, Danjah's palette is refreshed with acoustic instrumentation and warm Caribbean vibes that space out and soften his typically tensile grime structures. Across the 11 tracks he toggles the vibe between a sort of grime blues in TBC feat. Sir Spyro, and lilting steel drums in the balmy R&G of Wavy, while the likes of Last Days hit it typically hard and mean, but with cinematic strings, and the grime soul of centrepiece Scene 1 feat. Nii-Teiko.
