Philip Glass - Bojan Gorisek: Etudes For Piano Nos 11-20 + Metamorphosis 1-5

Format: 2LP
Availability: In stock

This recording by Bojan Gorišek finds the Slovenian pianist exploring the piano etudes by the contemporary American composer Philip Glass. In the 1960’s, Glass began connecting his musical ideas with the ideas of visual artists and theater directors of the 1960’s avant-garde and collaborated with artists such as Ravi Shankar and Alla Rakha. Amid non-Western and avant- garde influences, Glass rejected the European serial tradition in modern composition and began composing in the repetitive, additive, rhythm-focused style that later came to called “minimalism.’
