Elijah McLaughlin Ensemble are a three piece band from Chicago. ‘II’ sees them blending American primitive guitar - the style of acoustic folk guitar playing attributed to the likes of John Fahey and Robbie Basho - with modern classical and free jazz. McLaughlin’s 12 & 6 string guitars are augmented by the hammered dulcimer of Joel Styzens and Jason Toth on double bass.
