New Releases 5th March

It's another exciting week for New Releases!

Eddie Chacon - Pleasure, Joy and Happiness
Celestial soul as a break from chaos, these are quietly challenging songs as timeless as they are contemporary. Produced by John Carroll Kirby, the like-minded artist and collaborator with Frank Ocean and Solange Knowles, it features restrained percussion from Kanye West’s Sunday Service drummer Lamar Carter. In the words of Mac DeMarco: “Eddie Chacon is planet earth’s number one musician. Yesterday, today, and forever."

The Greg Foat Group - Dark Is The Sun
Recorded in Sweden, Dark is the Sun is a concept album based on themes and variations by British pianist/composer/arranger Greg Foat, who has created an intriguing blend of non-contemporary jazz sounds with classic scoring techniques. Special 10th anniversary edition with tip-on gatefold sleeve including archive pics & new liners.

Also released this week: Nancy Sinatra, Jane Weaver, Asha Pulthi,
Akiko Nakamura, Karen Dalton and Jane Birkin...

Plenty of restocks have been added too,
probably a few that you haven't seen for quite a while!

PRE-ORDERS

Various - Belong To The Wind
Belong To The Wind marks Forager Records’ debut release:
A lovingly curated collection of crooning psychedelic folk and soul songs gathered from American 45s of the 1970s. The compilation features 10 songs from 10 different acts, each with an indelible story of love, loss, loneliness, and an unrelenting desire to shake the confines of routine existence.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - G_d’s Pee AT STATE’S END!
The inimitable GYBE returns with another soundtrack for our times. As the heretical anarcho-punk spirit of the title implies, Godspeed harnesses some particularly raw power, spittle and grit across two riveting 20-minute side-length trajectories of noise-drenched widescreen post-rock: inexorable chug blossoms into blown-out twang, as some of the band’s most soaring, searing melodies ricochet and converge amidst violin and bassline counterpoint.

Double vinyl edition on audiophile 180gram LP + 10” pressed at Optimal (Germany) in gatefold jacket w/thermographic print, colour flood interior, artworked inners and DL card via Constellation (of course).

Japanese Breakfast - Jubilee (Signed Vinyl)
Signed Clear vinyl with Turqoise Swirl via Dead Oceans. Jubilee is a celebration of the passage of time—a festival to usher in the hope of a new era in brilliant technicolor.

Woods - Reflections Vol. 1 (Bumble Bee Crown King) (Coloured Vinyl)
Woods take a deep dive into their archives and put together the first volume of this much discussed archival series, Reflections. Featuring rare and unreleased recordings from 2009 – 2013 on limited coloured vinyl on Woodsist.

Life Without Buildings - Any Other City
Life Without Buildings managed to be utterly unique in the sound they made and ultimately that’s what has made this album’s reputation grow over time to be deemed absorbing, timeless and utterly essential listening.

Various - Perfect Motion
Jon Savage takes you on a stroll through his fond memories of the time when aspects of acid-house and aspects of guitar music fused to form a new breed of psychedelia.

Various - Do You Have The Force?
Jon Savage's eclectic voyage through Post-Punk era electronic music, Disco and proto-techno 1978-1982. Spanning Euro Disco to very early Electro and the classic period of High Energy, taking in mainstream Disco, the strange, minimal and avant garde.
